Die getrennte Sammlung und Verwertung von Bioabfällen aus ökologischer Sicht

Die wertgebenden Eigenschaften von Bioabfällen aus Haushalten und damit ihr Potenzial liegen in ihrem Gehalt an Pflanzennährstoffen und hier vor allem auch an Phosphor sowie dem Gehalt an nativer Organik bzw. Kohlenstoff. Zu Kompost verarbeitet kann mit dem Einsatz auf Böden ein hoher ökologischer Nutzen verbunden werden. Dies lässt sich ohne Abstriche in der Kompostqualität dann mit einer Energiegewinnung verbinden, wenn eine Biogaserzeugung integriert wird. Verwertungssysteme müssen optimal ausgebildet werden, d. h. hohe Emissionsstandards in Verbindung mit einer hohen Effektivität bspw. auch in der Biogasnutzung. Ist dies gewährleistet, ist die getrennte Sammlung und Verwertung von Bioabfällen unter nahezu allen Umweltgesichtspunkten gegenüber einem Verzicht auf die Biotonne vorteilhaft.

The valuable characteristics of household biowaste are the content of plant nutrients, mainly phosphorus, and of native organic matter or carbon. Processed to compost, the application to soils can be of high ecological value. Without losses of compost quality, the process can be combined with energy production if a fermentation is integrated into the concept. Recovery systems have to be designed with optimum effects, combining high emission standards with a high effectivity, e. g. of the biogas exploitation. If this is guaranteed, the separate collection and recovery of biowastes have advantages in almost all environmental aspects compared to systems without biowaste collection.
