Drei Neuerscheinungen zur Irlandistik
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Easter Rising, this review-essay discusses three recent publications in the field of Irish Studies in Germany: (1) a collection of conference papers on the 1916 rebellion in Dublin, a historical event which triggered off the independence movement in Ireland and eventually led to the present-day Republic of Ireland, (2) a monograph on Brian Friel, undoubtedly the most important Irish dramatist of the second half of the twentieth century, and (3) a series of articles on important mediators between Irish and German culture.
