Finis terrae, fi nis temporis: Julien Gracqs Topografi e der Grenze
Dieser Artikel untersucht die Bedeutung der topografischen Grenze als Übergangsbereich zwischen Kultur- und Naturlandschaft im Romanwerk von Julien Gracq. Dabei sollen anhand eines ökokritischen Ansatzes die Rolle der Landschaft als funktionales, handlungsauslösendes Element der Narration nachgewiesen und Parallelen mit ökologischen Theorien freigelegt werden.
This article studies the importance of the topographical border as a transitional area between cultural and natural landscapes in the novels of Julien Gracq. Thus, by using an ecocritical approach, the role of the landscape as functional element of narration triggering the plot shall be proved and parallels with ecological theory uncovered.
