New data protection regulatory regime in the Republic of Serbia: from stone age to modern times in just 9 months
The cornerstone of EU law in the area of data protection, the General Data Protection Regulation, is regarded as a privacy law standard not only in the EU but also for the rest of the world. While the Republic of Serbia is not a member of the EU, newly enacted Law on protection of personal data of the Republic of Serbia is heavily influenced by GPDR. This article aims to explain key concept of the new Law on protection of personal data in comparison with the previous law regulating processing of the personal data in the Republic of Serbia.
