Peter L. Shillingsburg: From Gutenberg to Google. Electronic Representations of Literary Texts.
In From Gutenberg to Google, Peter L. Shillingsburg addresses a series of related and provocative questions: how is the nature of textuality changing in a digital age? How can the complexity of reading, writing, and other textual interactions be adequately described? And, how can scholars best make use of digital technology in editing literary texts? In answering these questions, the author brings to bear long experience in electronic editing and textual scholarship on the Victorian novel, although the questions are relevant for many disciplines, and the discussion is directed to a broad academic audience.
