Qualitätssicherung der Analytik von MBA-Austrag – der ASA-Ringversuch 2012

Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft Stoffspezifische Abfallbehandlung (ASA) e. V. versteht sich als Interessenvertreter der Betreiber von Anlagen, in denen Abfälle stoffspezifisch mechanisch und/oder biologisch behandelt werden. Für Anlagen mit MBA-Technologie (MBA, MBS, MPS, MA) ist die ASA bestrebt, die Qualitätssicherung auch im Bereich der Abfallanalytik des Austrags von Mechanisch-Biologischen Abfallbehandlungsanlagen (MBA) zu verbessern.
In 2012 wurde von der ASA nun erstmalig ein Ringversuch MBA als Eignungsprüfung für Labore für den Untersuchungsbereich MBA-Austrag nach DepV durchgeführt. Von insgesamt 40 teilnehmenden Laboren wurden drei unterschiedliche Proben mit bis zu 8 Parametern je Probe untersucht. Das Spektrum der Untersuchungsparameter umfasste den Trockenmassegehalt (TG), den Glühverlust (GV), den gesamten organischen Kohlenstoffanteil im Feststoff (TOC), den Brennwert (Ho), den organischen Kohlenstoffanteil im Eluat (DOC) sowie die beiden biologischen Parameter Atmungsaktivität (AT4) und die Gasbildungsrate (GB21). Als Zusatzparameter wurde der biogene Kohlenstoffanteil (Cbiogen) mit untersucht.
Basierend auf einer vergleichenden Bewertung wurde den Teilnehmern die erfolgreiche Teilnahme durch ein Zertifikat bestätigt. Von den 40 teilnehmenden Laboren haben 80 % die Anforderungen des Ringversuchs erfüllt. Dies bestätigt den inzwischen erreichten guten Qualitätsstandard in den Laboren bei der MBA-Analytik.
Die ASA hat mit dem Ringversuch MBA ein wertvolles Instrument für die Qualitätssicherung bei MBA und den Kompetenznachweis für auf diesem Gebiet tätige Labore geschaffen. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse werden zum Aufbau eines regelmäßigen Ringversuchsprogramms sowie für die Fortschreibung der Güte- und Prüfbestimmungen „Probenahme, Probenaufbereitung und Analyse von MBA-Austragsmaterial gemäß AbfAblV“ (RAL-RG 504, [5]) genutzt. Der nächste ASA Ringversuch MBA ist für 2015 in Vorbereitung.

The Association for Material Specific Waste Treatment (ASA) e. V. is the interest group of operators of plants for material specific mechanical and/or biological treatment of waste. The ASA strives for improvement of quality management for plants using MBT-technology (MBT, MBS, MPS, MT) e. g. concerning the laboratory analytics of MBT output.
In 2012 the ASA for the first time performed an interlaboratory comparison as proficiency test for laboratories working in the field of analytics of MBT output according to the German landfill directive. By 40 attending laboratories three different samples were examined for up to 8 parameters. The scale of parameters included the dry matter content (TG), the loss on ignition (GV), the total organic carbon in dry matter (TOC), the heat of combustion (Ho), the dissolved organic carbon (DOC) as well as the two biological parameters oxygen demand (breathing activity) in 4 days (AT4) and the gas formation in 21 days (GB21). Additionally the content of biogenic carbon (Cbiogen) was analysed.
Based on a comparative testing of the laboratories the successful attendance was determined and attested by a certificate of the ASA. All in all 80 % of the participating laboratories met the requirements of the interlaboratory comparison. This confirms the high quality standard of the laboratory analytics of MBT output reached by now.
By performing the interlaboratory comparison the ASA has created a valuable device for quality management of MBT and for the proficiency testing of laboratories working in this field. The experienced data will be used for implementation of a regular programme for interlaboratory comparisons and for updating of the RAL test instructions and quality regulations “Sampling, sample preparation and analytics of MBT output according to the landfill directive” RG 504. The next ASA interlaboratory comparison is in preparation for 2015.
